CAPTAIN

CAPTAIN: ALI AKER

Turkey

Satori was built in collaboration with the boat's captain and Thottrup family friend Ali Aker, whose sailing experience spans more than 25 years on various types of boats throughout the Mediterranean, including 10 years at the captain's helm. A fluent English speaker, Captain Ali also shares his expertise as a free diver and night diver with guests, offering practical advice and assistance with the various water sports available onboard.

EXECUTIVE CHEF: ANDREA MATTEI

Italy

Executive chef Andrea Mattei embodies a 'farm to plate' philosophy at Meo Modo in Tuscany, uniting a deep understanding of his native culinary heritage with seasonal bounty cultivated onsite at the 200-acre Borgo Santo Pietro estate. After extensive experience honing his skills in Italy and abroad, Andrea gained his Michelin star in 2011, which was reconfirmed for Meo Modo in 2015 after his first season as executive chef. His culinary flair was most recently recognised with Meo Modo's nomination for 'Best Dining Experience' for Virtuoso's 2017 Best of the Best Awards.

EXECUTIVE CHEF: ANTONELLO SARDI

Executive chef at La Bottega del Buon Caffè in Florence, Antonello Sardi's dedication to excellence and innovation won him a Michelin star in 2014. The restaurant was listed second under 'Best Restaurants in the World' on the 2016 Condè Nast Traveller Gold List, where judges lauded Antonello's fresh approach to Tuscan cuisine using ingredients drawn from the 200-acre Borgo Santo Pietro estate and sourced directly from local producers.

SOUS CHEF: SIMONE DI MAIO

Simone has worked extensively in the Michelin-starred sphere, with experience including sous chef at Lunasia in Pisa, chef de partie gard-manger/poissonier at Trussardi all Scala in Milan, demi-chef and chef de partie viande at Tour d’Argent in Paris, chef de partie entremétier/garde-manger/poissonier at Gualtiero Marchesi in Brescia, and chef de partie tournant at Gambero Rosso in Livorno, and a stint at London's Yashin Ocean House that served to further expand his culinary approach. He now works at Borgo Santo Pietro's Michelin-starred restaurant Meo Modo and brings his passion for gourmet cuisine to the Satori kitchen as sous chef.

STEWARD: ANDREA SALVATORI

Andrea Salvatori holds the position of restaurant manager at Michelin-starred restaurant Meo Modo in Tuscany. He spent the decade beforehand working in sommelier and managerial roles at some of Italy's most prestigious restaurants and hotels, including Del Pescatore (Mantua), Casa Perbellini (Verona), Enoteca Pinchiorri (Florence) and Mandarin Oriental (Milan). Anticipating and responding to ever-changing guests' needs and situations is not merely Andrea's job but rather a vocation, which he brings to Satori with dedication and savoir-faire.

STEWARD: SIMONE MARINI

Italy

Simone has considerable experience in the field of high-end dining and hospitality, including chef de rang at luxury boutique hotel estate Borgo Santo Pietro and Michelin-starred restaurant Meo Modo, as well as assistant maitre at Vacances Bleues Hotel in France and chef de rang at Hotel Degli Imperatori and Black Hotel in Rome. He now brings his accomplished and discreet approach to service on board Satori.

STEWARD: NICOLA DI LIETO

Italy

Nicola's warm and professional approach has seen him work successfully in such roles as second maitre at Michelin-starred restaurant Meo Modo and five-star boutique hotel estate Borgo Santo Pietro in Tuscany; chef de rang at Principe Forte Dei Marmi, Principe di Piemonte and Michelin-starred restaurant Il Piccolo Principe on the Tuscan coast; demi chef de rang at Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo in Sicily; and commis de rang at Raymond Blanc's two-Michelin-starred Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxford and Michelin-starred restaurant at Il Pellicano in Tuscany.

STEWARDESS: CLEOPATRA NARLIS

South Africa / Greece

Cleopatra brings a wealth of professional experience to her role as Satori's stewardess, having worked extensively on luxury private yachts since 2014. Highly capable and responsible, she enjoys providing impeccable service as part of a dedicated team. Cleopatra speaks both English and Greek and is well-versed in accommodating VIP guests, approaching her role with warmth, professionalism and absolute discretion. She brings her positive energy and passion for active, healthy living aboard Satori.

CREW

FIRST MATE: YIGIT GAZI UZUNKAYA

Turkey

A maritime university graduate, Yigit has gained considerable experience on board both private and charter yachts over the past eight years. He joined the Satori project in 2016 and has since become an important member of the team.

ENGINEER: MUKADDER YALCIN

Turkey

Mukadder is a maritime university graduate and has sailed from a young age. He joined the Satori project early in the building process, and is therefore well acquainted with the yacht's structure and functions. Mukadder now lends his knowledge and love of engines and electronics to the Satori team as the yacht's on-board engineer.

DECKHAND: EMRE ÇIÇEK

UK/Turkey

Emre has gained hands-on practical experience with both sailing and motor yachts throughout the Mediterranean. He possesses a certain gift for electronics and is the man to call for any assistance with the sophisticated system on board Satori.
